The Colby Community College men's basketball team (5-11, 2-1) lost 78-72 to Dodge City on Wednesday, Jan. 9 in Dodge City.
The game took a unexpected turn halfway through the first half when Dodge City big man Anthony Harris took a swing at CCC player Koance Davis. Harris was immediately ejected, and according to Trojan head coach John Woods, Davis was ejected for shoving. Also resulting from the incident was the ejection of the Trojan's leading scoreer Mike Boyd, who was ejected for leaving the bench.
Even without their top two leading scores, the Trojans managed to hang around in the first half. Dodge City was able to stretch a seven-point halftime lead into 15 points, but the Trojans continue to battle. CCC pulled to within 5 points with 26 seconds remaining, but that was as close as they could come.
Andrew Engel scored 26 points for the Trojans, Erick Pegeuro had 14 points and Tashaul Kelly contributed 11 points.
