Coach Comments: I though we played better today than at Garden City. We are still making to many little mistakes on defense. You have to make the average play on defense and you will keep yourself in the game. We started slow at the plate against Hays but finished strong. Against Seward we jumped on them 6-1 after the top of the second. They rallied to score 8 in the inning but we found back. We had the winning runs on base but couldn’t get a key hit to score the runs. I thought our talk and intensity was the best it had been all fall in the Seward game. We need to focus on building from each game and not take steps backwards. We play in North Platte this coming weekend. Pool Play is on Saturday and bracket play on Sunday. Western Nebraksa, York College and Doane are in our pool for this tournament. Don’t forget to come out to the Colby Community College campus on Wednesday at noon for the backer luncheon. Cost is $6 for lunch and all the coaches from the college will give a rundown of the past week and what is going on for the coming week.
