Volleyball 4-2 at Colby Classic

The CCC Lady Trojan volleyball team went 4-2 over the weekend at its home Colby Classic Tournament. On Friday, the Lady Trojans (6-9 overall) defeated Otero and Eastern Wyoming. On Saturday, they ran into two tough teams early, losing to North Platte in three sets and to Northwest Wyoming in two games. CCC responded by winning its next two games over Lamar and McCook.

The Lady Trojans opened up the tournament at 8:00 on Friday with a hard-fought three-set win over Otero (all games were best two-out-of three). The game scores were 25-21, 20-25, 15-13. The Trojans then defeated Eastern Wyoming in straight sets by the scores of 30-28, 25-20. On Saturday, the Trojans played against a tough opponent in North Platte and lost 25-17, 22-25, 15-10.

CCC then ran into a Northwest Wyoming team that was clicking on all cylinders. Northwest won by the scores of 25-8, 25-13. Colby responded by defeating Lamar in three sets, 25-18, 21-25, 15-13. The Lady Trojans struggled from the middle of the second game all the way through most of the third game. Down 8-13 in the final game, the Lady Trojans responded with a seven consecutive points for a 15-13 victory. The team then followed up that momentum with a 25-11, 25-23 victory over McCook.
