Women’s Results (From head coach Crystal Berndt)
The Lady Trojan Cross Country team competed at Colorado College today. There goal this week was to beat Garden City, every single girl had to run there personal best to achieve this goal. We wound up placing 3rd over all and beat Garden City by 31 points. I was very proud of each of the ladies, they all went in knowing what they had to do and they did it!!
Tonya Nero took 2nd place, with a tying time with the first place winner she got beat right at the finish line. Scarla Nero took 17th place, Maria Rodriguez 37th, Kayla Zodrow 39th, Nicole Clark 54th, Reba Schiesser 56th, Autumn Preston 69th.
Men’s Results
The men’s cross country team finished 5th out of ten teams at the Colorado College Invitational. Finishing ahead of CCC was (1) Adams State, (2) Garden City, (3) Colorado College, and (4) University of Northern Colorado.
The top finisher for the Trojans was Albert Mong’ony, who finished 31st in a time of 29:05. Other finishers were Darren Sporing (58th, 30:46), Ryan Baalman (59th, 30:52), Anthony Whiteman (61st, 30:56), Lendon Hartshorn (63, 31:00), Roberto Romero (65, 31:06), Harley Beck (75, 32:06), Chisom Spencer (80, 32:57), Joel Scott (90, 35:46), and David Barnum (96, 38:23).
