Former Colby Community College cross country and track and field runner Betty Rotich made her debut for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide in January. Rotich made her debut on Jan. 19 at the Clemson Invitational. Rotich, a native of Nakuru, Kenya, won the 3000 meters in a time of 10:05.69.
Rotich also also competed Feb. 9 in Lincoln, Neb., finishing fourth in the mile with a personal best time. The University of Alabama track and field team is compteting today (Feb. 15) in Fayetteville, Ark. Just an update......Rotich hit the provsional qualifing time for the NCAA Championships in her 5k at The Tyson Meet at the University of Arkansas (Feb. 15th). She ran 16:40.17 finishing 4th.
