The Colby Community College men's basketball team added to their list of close-call losses this season, losing 75-73 at Garden City on Saturday. It was the Trojans eighth loss this year by fewer than five points.
For just the second time in five games, the Trojans were at full strength as Koance Davis and Mike Boyd finished up serving suspensions from an earlier altercation in a game with Dodge City. The Trojans fell behind in the first half, and trailed by nine points at halftime.
Koance Davis led the Trojans with 28 points and 18 points. Mike Boyd had 15 points, Everson Lacerda had 10 points and 5 rebounds. Erick Peguero had 8 points and 10 rebounds. Andrew Engel was held in check in the game, finishing with just five field goal attempts and 3 points.
The Trojans are currently tied for last place in the West Division of the Jayhawk Conference. They are tied at 2-7 with Dodge City. Both Pratt and Bulter are one game ahead of the Trojans at 3-6. The Trojans host Pratt on Wednesday at the Community Building, a game crucial for the Trojans' chances of making the post-season conference tournament.
