Trojans lose 84-58 at Cloud County

Saturday, Jan. 16

The Trojan men's basketball team's task of making the post-season conference tournament just got extremely tougher. Already down two starters, Andrew Engel and Mike Boyd, due to injury, the Trojans also lost leading rebounder and second leading scorer Koance Davis, who decided to quit.

The remaining squad played tough Saturday night, but lost 84-58 at Cloud County. Tashaun Kelly led the Trojans with 13 points and also had 9 rebounds. The ever-improving Everson Lacerda had 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Jordon Ottoway had 10 points.

The Trojans committed 26 turnovers while trying to find offensive production without their top three leading scorers. The Trojans were able to hold Cloud to 38% shooting from the field, but Cloud had 29 more shot attempts, thanks to Trojan turnovers and 21 offensive rebounds.
